Harvest Home and Happy Birthday

October 29th, 2012 Categories: Fellowship Center

For the past few years, the church here in the village has decided to make the last Sunday in October our “Thanksgiving” day.  It’s a time that we thank the Lord for His blessings throughout the year and it’s also a time to thank the Lord for the good “harvest” he has given.  The church is decorated with many of the fruits and vegetables that are cultivated and grown in the people’s gardens.  So Saturday the young people and I spent several hours decorating the church.

Getting things decorated.

Made making sure things are in order…She did a great job helping arrange things.

Teodora wanted a picture near the beautiful flowers

Thank the Lord for His word!

Naome and Made working on the finishing touches

The youth group decided Saturday would also be a good time to surprise me a little early for my birthday with a beautiful cake and some wonderful gifts.  It was such a thoughtful gesture and I am humbled by their kindness.   I am so blessed to be able to work with these wonderful young people.  Thanks guys for all that you did to make the day special!

Here is part of the youth group that was there to wish me a Happy Birthday

Thanks to all for the beautiful cake, plant, lamp, chocolate, candle and potpourri.  I love you guys!

Happy Birthday to me! 🙂  2 cakes Mmm.

I decided to have all of the orphans over for a holiday lunch on Sunday afternoon.  It was nice to be able to enjoy this meal together.  God truly has blessed me in so many ways.  What a privilege it is to be part of these precious children and young people’s lives.

Happy Thanksgiving!
