Talpos Today May 2007

Dear friends and family,

Greetings from Romania!  I have some great news for you.  We have finished the roof on the Fellowship Center.  Thank the Lord!  The work went smoothly; there were no accidents and the roof looks great.  I also want to say ”Thank you” for your prayers and for your support.  We couldn’t have done it without you.

I also want to thank the team from Beavertown God’s Missionary church (my home church) that came to help.  The team consisted of 8 people:  Assistant Pastor Jeff Stratton, Dave Hostetler, Anthony Witmer, Nathan Zechman, David Shaffer and Don, Valerie and Ronnie Hallenbeck.  They were a big help and such a joy to have!

As you can see from the pictures, the whole team worked hard.  The men were at the work site 10 hours every day except Sunday and did whatever was asked of them.  Valerie worked hard all day helping me with the meals, clean-up, working with the orphans and anything else she could find to do.

The Romanians thoroughly enjoyed working side by side with the Americans and I really enjoyed have them here.

A lot of work got done, but along with working on the building, the team also took time to get to know the children at the orphanage and some of the teens from the village.  The bond that the team members made with the children and teens was very special.

Several of the orphans cried when they said their goodbyes and they are still talking about their new friends.

Thank you again Beavertown GMC for all your hard work and thank you to those who made it possible for the team to come.  God bless you for your continued support of the work here.

Now that the roof is done, the next thing that we plan to work on is the downstairs of the center.  A team of Romanians have begun working on stuccoing the inside.  However, we are still looking for experienced volunteers that would be interested in taking a week or two out of their summer to help with hanging sheet rock, painting, laying floor tiles, etc.

Having volunteers would really help save on the cost of labor.

Please pray about this and if you are interested in coming or know of  anyone else who would like to come and help, you can contact me at sally@sallysebo.com or Daryl Hausman at dhausman@zappmobile.ro.  It would be great to have you!

I ask you also to help us pray that the finances will continue to come in order to complete this project.  God has been supplying the needs.  However, the value of the dollar keeps dropping and cost of building materials keeps increasing and you know what that means.  If you feel God directing you to give towards the continued construction for the center please send your gift to Hope International Missions marked clearly for the fellowship center.  I’m sure God will bless you for your giving!

Thank you again for your continued prayers and support.  You play such a major role in the ministry here.  God bless you!

God bless you!

In His Service,
Sally Sebo

Some would gather money
Along the path of life.
Some would gather roses
And rest from earthly strife.
But I would gather children
From among the thorns of sin;
I would seek a golden curl
And a freckled, toothless grin.
For money cannot enter
Into the land of endless day,
And roses that are gathered
Soon will wilt along the way,
But oh, the laughing children,
As I cross the sunset sea,
And the gates swing wide to heaven
I can take them in with me.
