Talpos Today March 2008
Dear friends and family,
Time sure flies when you are busy and enjoying the work of the Lord. I must apologize for the large gap between my last newsletter and this one. I can’t begin to share with you all that has happened since then, but some of the highlights include being visited by a work team, making and giving out Christmas packs, celebrating Christmas, ringing in the New Year and we also had a Baptismal service at the church. So much has happened that I’m sure I will not be able to share all of the happenings in this newsletter but I will fit in as much as possible.
First let me tell you about the wonderful team that came to work on the fellowship center. There were 5 men from my home church (Beavertown God’s Missionary): Don and Ronnie Hallenbeck, Dave Knouse, Steve Stahl and Jeremy Zechman. Along with these men my childhood pastor Rev. John Walter came along to help. It was a blessing to also have Daryl Hausman here with the team.
Because Daryl had done so much work on the framing out of the upstairs rooms, we felt it was essential for him to be here and explain to the team what needed to be done.
The team was able to accomplish so much during their time here. They worked extremely hard morning to night and because of their hard work, all the insulation has been put in place, all the sheetrock was hung, there is tile in the bathroom, kitchen and side hallway and things look great! Check out the pictures and you can see for yourself how much work they pulled off in such a short time. The team also was able to squeeze in some quality time with the orphans.
Thank you so much men for all your hard work. I know it wasn’t easy for you to take 2 weeks off from your normal jobs to come and volunteer, but I’m sure that God will bless you for your sacrifice.
You were an exceptional work team and you put all your heart into your work and it really showed. The results were amazing.
I also want to thank all of you who made it possible for the team to be here. Thank you all again and God bless you!
As I mentioned earlier, since my last newsletter, we also celebrated Christmas. We enjoyed a wonderful celebration of the birth of Jesus and because of your giving, we were able to help hundreds of children. I want to thank all of you who gave for the Christmas packs. Your gift was greatly appreciated.
I also want to say a special “Thank you” to Lebanon God’s Missionary Church for their generous donation this year. I know that God will bless all of you for your giving. As you can see by the children’s faces, they were so excited about their gifts. This year, because of your gifts, I was able to purchase bikes for the 6 youngest orphans. They were thrilled with their bikes. Besides Tibi, none of them knew how to ride a bike (because they had never had a bike). But I can happily say now that all of them, with the exception of Marius have learned to ride their bikes (without the training wheels). When I see them riding their bikes, with big smiles on their faces, I am reminded of your generosity and I thank God for you.
There is so much more to share, but my space has already run out. However, if the saying is true that a picture is worth a thousand words than this is one of my longest newsletters :) .
Before I end let me tell you quickly about the Fellowship Center. The Lord has been helping in a wondeful way and there has been a tremendous amount of progress. Since the work team has been here, so much more has been accomplished. Almost all the tile work is done in the building. With the exception of one room, all the downstairs is painted. The chimney has been installed, the pellet stove has been purchased and is in the furnace room waiting to be installed. We will be ready to paint in the upstairs in a short time and and just last week I ordered the carpet for the rest of the center. Also we have the majority of the plumbing installed and the septic tank is sitting in my yard waiting for some warmer weather so we can have it installed.
What a joy to see how God has been helping the work go forward. Thank you again to all who have given and continue to give for this ongoing project. God bless you all!
In His Service,
Sally Sebo

Some would gather money
Along the path of life.
Some would gather roses
And rest from earthly strife.
But I would gather children
From among the thorns of sin;
I would seek a golden curl
And a freckled, toothless grin.
For money cannot enter
Into the land of endless day,
And roses that are gathered
Soon will wilt along the way,
But oh, the laughing children,
As I cross the sunset sea,
And the gates swing wide to heaven
I can take them in with me.
