Talpos Today April 2007
Dear friends and family,
Warm greetings from Romania! Today the sun is out, the birds are singing and signs of spring can be seen throughout the village. There are lambs, chicks and even piglets running around. This fellow had just bought a piglet in the village and he was eager to show him off. I also thought you would like to see a few pictures of normal scenes from the village as the weather begins to warm up.
At the writing of this letter, Easter will soon be here and I am looking forward to celebrating the resurrection of Jesus with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Every year I have been blessed by the services here in Romania during Easter time. We have church every evening, Monday through Thursday the week before Easter. During these services the pastor normally preaches about Jesus’ last days here on earth. We also have church twice a day on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and the Monday after Easter.
It’s sometimes easy just to come to church Easter morning, hear a sermon about the resurrection of Jesus and that’s it. However, these special services have helped me to focus more on what Jesus has done for me. He was betrayed; he suffered and died for me. But then “Up from the grave he arose.” He is Risen! Hallelujah! I pray that your Easter will be filled with God’s blessing and His presence.
With Easter soon here that of course means practices with the orphans, teens, church children and kindergarteners. It seemed like just a short time ago we were practicing for Christmas. I’m sure most of you will agree when I say, “boy how time flies.” In May I will have been in Romania five years and how wonderful it has been to be in the center of God’s will working for Him.
In these past five years I have seen how the children and young people have grown and I pray that as they grow physically that they will also grow spiritually. I want God to use the ministry here to help them learn more about Him and become His children.
Please help me pray to this end.
I thought you would also enjoy some of the then and now pictures of the children. Isn’t it wonderful that Jesus loves all the little children of the world?
I want to share with you a HUGE, HUGE answer to prayer. God has provided me with a 7 passenger mini van. Praise God! As some of you know I have been praying for another vehicle for some time now. My little car has served me well for the past (almost) 5 years, but with the ministries that I am involved in, a larger and more reliable vehicle was needed.
Let me tell you how God answered my prayer. A few months ago, I received an email from one of my regular supporters. He was writing to see if I had any specific personal needs. Well I began writing him back and listing some of the small personal needs I had. At first, I must admit that it never even crossed my mind to mention about a vehicle. I would have been one that Jesus would have said to “O ye of little faith.” I had been praying for a vehicle, an opportunity arose to share this need and I almost didn’t share it.
Well to make a long story short, after several e-mails back and forth regarding the type of vehicle, the cost etc. this supporter wrote me and said, “I feel that God wants me to fill this need of yours.” His wife had just passed away from a battle with cancer and he wanted to use some of her life insurance policy for the work of the Lord.
I can’t begin to explain to you how this made me feel. With tears running down my face I had emotions of thanksgiving, unworthiness, awe and gratitude for what God had done for me through this supporter. He has asked to remain anonymous, but I would ask you to pray for this gentleman that God would bless him and help him as he deals with the loss of his wife.
Dear brother, (you know who you are) thank you so much for your generosity. Your immense gift is a great blessing to me and will be a blessing to many for years to come.
The van is beautiful and I feel so unworthy of this wonderful gift, but once again God has blessed me abundantly. Thank the Lord! Through this experience my faith has increased and I am again reminded of God’s endless resources. Nothing is too big for God. God takes care of His children. What a mighty God we serve!
The orphans and I have already been to the city several times to "test drive" the new vehicle. It was also a good time to visit their favorite restaurant, McDonalds :) and to shop for some clothes, shoes and even a few toys :) (kids will be kids)
We have once again begun construction on the fellowship center. The Lord has been blessing and helping in a wonderful way. The Romanian men are working hard and we also had a team from Beavertown God’s Missionary Church here who helped. (I plan on sharing more about the team in my next newsletter) Thank you Beavertown team for all your help!

I want to also thank all of you who gave and are continuing to give towards the fellowship center. I know that God will bless you for your generosity. Please continue to pray for the ongoing construction of the fellowship center that all that is done will be done for the glory of God. Pray for the workers that God will keep His hand of protection upon them as they work and also please help us pray that all the finances will come in to finish the center.
Well, I guess that is all for now.
God bless you!
In His Service,
Sally Sebo

Some would gather money
Along the path of life.
Some would gather roses
And rest from earthly strife.
But I would gather children
From among the thorns of sin;
I would seek a golden curl
And a freckled, toothless grin.
For money cannot enter
Into the land of endless day,
And roses that are gathered
Soon will wilt along the way,
But oh, the laughing children,
As I cross the sunset sea,
And the gates swing wide to heaven
I can take them in with me.
